Shipping and Delivery Policy:
Within Kenya - We offer same day delivery on products in stock. Any other products are delivered in 3-5 days from the date order is placed. Payment is accepted at time of placing order or on delivery. We accept cash, MPESA, or Debit/Credit Card via our website or, upon request, a PDQ machine can be provided at time of delivery. We offer doorstep delivery. We offer free delivery on orders above 2,000 KES nationwide.
For orders outside of Nairobi, payment is required at time of order. We dispatch same day or next day via WellsFargo that offers doorstep delivery nationwide. We send a receipt for your tracking reference.
International: We offer delivery via DHL Express that arrives 3-5 days from date order is placed and payment received. International orders payment must be received to process order.
Refunds/Exchanges: we have a no refund policy on any items sold domestically or internationally. We offer free exchange on items that are broken or damaged for up to 1 year from purchase on domestic purchases only.
FAQs
Our jewellery is 100% brass and therefore nickel free. Our jewellery does not contain any other mixed metals or synthetic metals. It has an IP coating which is a protective clear coating on it to prevent it from tarnishing and makes the jewellery generally hypoallergenic. Brass jewellery is naturally hypoallergenic because it doesn't contain nickel, and our coating adds to that effect. However, people with eczema and other serious skin disorders should not wear brass.

After Care: Our jewellery has an IP coating, which is a protective clear coating on it to prevent it from tarnishing and makes the jewellery generally hypoallergenic. Brass is 100% nickel free and is a precious metal. The easiest way to protect your brass jewellery is to keep it away from humid places like for example, storage in your make up bag in the bathroom. The jewellery should be kept away from other metals to keep it from mixing with other metals that have synthetic materials in them. Chemicals such as harsh perfume, lotions, or sprays should not have direct contact with the jewellery.
To refresh, soak jewellery in lemon water for 15 minutes. Use a dry cloth to wipe clean. Alternatively, toothpaste can be used to polish it as a home remedy. Our recommendation is to purchase brass polish from any supermarket near you and polish the items at home. We suggest refreshing your #KipatoJewels after 6 months to 1 year of wear to avoid stripping the jewellery of the IP protective coating.
Kipato Unbranded is a social enterprise that collaborates with local artists, promoting their talents and skills and gives them access to markets. Kipato is the Kiswahili word for income. This underscores the social justice core of the enterprise. We ensure that our artists are empowered by their work and receive fair wages for their creativity. From its’ beginnings, profits from the artists’ work, whether sold in international or local markets, go directly to the artists, creating a model that is sustainable and fair to them. Your purchase directly supports artisans in need specifically from Kibera, Dagoretti, and Rongai.
Our packaging is eco-friendly and the jewelry comes packed in a kitenge baggie. It can be reused to store or transport your jewelry. Upon request, we can include a handwritten note for gifts to family and friends.
If you are in Nairobi, we can send you a variety of sizes to try on with a rider to your delivery address. If you are outside of Nairobi, you can send us your ring size if you know it. If not, you can send us a photo of your hand and we can approximate the size if you indicate the exact finger you would like the ring on. You can also google ring size charts and use the most relevant one to your country to see how to measure in centimeters or inches.

INTERNATIONAL WHOLESALER GUIDELINES
Firstly, thank you for choosing Kipato Unbranded! We are glad you have a chosen an ethical brand to promote and thank you in advance for supporting our artisans who are in need. As you already must know, we are a women-led social enterprise that works with artisans from disadvantaged areas to improve their livelihoods. Your support means a lot to us and we aim to provide you with high quality customer service, quality assurance, and effective and efficient delivery. Our artisan’s rely on us to connect them to larger markets and we rely on your partnership to work together in order to ensure they receive fair wages.
Production & Shipping Times:
We require a 50% deposit to begin production. Production takes at a minimum of 2 weeks on average depending on the size of the order. Shipping is an additional 3-5 days via DHL express.The second payment of 50% is made upon arrival of parcel to the receiver. The wholesaler is responsible to cover shipping costs and import taxes.
Kipato Unbranded is responsible for communicating on the status of the order and expected delivery date. We will share when the order is dispatched and the receiver is provided with the tracking number and an invoice detailing the cost of shipping.
Returns and Refunds:
For wholesale orders, Kipato Unbranded does not accept returns of products sent internationally and it does not issue refunds for payments made to Kipato Unbranded. It is important for the wholesaler to approve production and shipping invoices and to be aware of import taxes before ordering.
